Welcome to My World.
DISCLAIMER: If you are expecting traditional family values, you are not in the correct place. Please hit your BACK button now. There are other more suitable places for you to be than here. If you do not wish to learn about the struggles of the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgendered communities or about pagan thought or the philosophy of witches, you are in the wrong place. I came here to http://doteasy.com after my blogging 369 buddy http://jeremycrow4life.com did.
Yahell has a TOS which the mindless y-bots who work for yahell have been busily enforcing. Their efforts have proven to be fruitful. The y-bots search and destroy blogs on 369 that show evidence of talent, articulate thought, tasteful photography, and (mostly) authorship by women.
Blogs which are status quo, smack of uber-christianity, vanilla un-sex, tasteless, and written by stalkers who wish to befriend children for their own sick deviant purposes [Can you say "predators" boys and girls?] are allowed to stay on. The y-bots need to work in order to support themselves and their families. Yahell has every right to TOS out anyone it has a whim to. I too have chosen to vote with my electronic feet and so I am here. Although I still maintain a blog on Yahoo 360, I do have it backed-up elsewhere.
The internet is a wild and wooly place. Fundamentalism which has been busy overtaking the untied states now threatens to consume the internet as well. Fundamentalism is dangerous.
Apathy is the rot that allows fundamentalists to impose their views and dictates upon the rest of us.
The literal version of creation a.k.a. intelligent design-- or unintelligible design-- creeps into our public schools through the twin back doors of ignorance and lack of enthusiasm for vigorous scientific investigation. While the rest of the untied states is asking what jesus would do, I prefer to ask what would the flying spaghetti monster do? Or, what would Molly Weasley do?
I am here because I am willing to be counted among those for whom grudging tolerance and extra-legal status is no longer satisfactory. I am here because I have known the cruelity of those who would impose their beliefs and values on me. I am here because I have had enough of people, agencies, and institutions attempting to determine how my life will look. I am here because survival is not all there is.
"Silence is the voice of complicity." -Audre Lourde
Audre Lourde is no longer among the living. She lost her battle with breast cancer some years ago. She was a brave woman who knew something that the (im)moral majority would rather have us forget. She knew the power of her own voice. Her legacy compels me to speak up, to be counted, to take a risk. Risk-taking is risky. And yet, I do speak out today. Like the early days of Act-Up and Queer Nation, I have a drive to take action and to communicate about the larger issues at stake as the United States continues her course towards becoming a modern-day theocracy. Action = Life, the folks from Act Up taught me. And, Silence = Death.
Silence = Death Action = Life
It takes one person and a friend to start a revolution. Change begins with me and gains momentum with us. We are powerful. Together, we can accomplish much. Together, we are strong. Together, we can make community. We can empower ourselves and each other.
These things are a taste of what will follow here. Welcome to my world. A world of hopes and dreams and books and frogs. A world where friends can pull up a spot and relax with a cup of coffee or herbal tea. A world where we can all begin to speak about what is on our minds and in our hearts. A world where the cauldron bubbles over with the promise of a new and better tomorrow.
Welcome, friend. Welcome to my world...
